This is great advice for all of us, not just teachers.

What helps me on Sunday evenings is having a plan. Knowing there’s some dopamine waiting for me because I set up some boxes to check off on Monday lets me focus on the excitement of following the plan rather than the dread of returning to the daily drudgery.

Thanks! Do you use a digital or analog checklist?

Bit of a hybrid. I manage daily and newsletter tasks through the Reminders app on my phone and iPad.

Every day for work, I create a new note on my iPad and structure it with a checklist at the top and then any meeting notes or working out thoughts that I need to do go below that. I have a short window blocked off on my calendar in the morning for planning out the day, but I also try to create tomorrow’s checklist at the end of every day so I can just prep for meetings and review emails in the morning planning block.
