I can’t believe it’s already been a year since launching The Monday Morning Coach! 

I created this space to invigorate and motivate coaches and teachers who find it difficult to get going on Mondays. But really, this is a place for all people who sometimes struggle with Mondays. The goal is this to be a space for you to find motivation in less time than it takes to drink a cup of coffee. 

As a high school coach and teacher, I speak from a specific point of view, but I know just as much as anyone the difficulty of attacking Mondays, no matter your status. Some Mondays are easier than others. I dread those other Mondays. 

But I’m a big believer in the mantra that the present is a gift so I try not to waste it. So in the spirit of today being a gift, I’m offering you a chance to win a free gift!

The book study will cover Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World by David Epstein. You’ll find this book an excellent read if you’re a teacher or coach who is frustrated with students and athletes who aren’t dedicated to your subject or sport. It’s also helpful if you’re a parent who wonders if your kids need to specialize in a specific sport or field of study to be successful later in life. Epstein turns these notions on their head with in-depth research that indicates otherwise.

Epstein write, “And yet a tech founder who is fifty years old is nearly twice as likely to start a blockbuster company as one who is thirty, and the thirty-year old has a better shot than the twenty-year-old.” And he has the research to back it up.

With these kinds of insights backed by in-depth research, coupled with a dose of Monday morning motivation, we can better gauge the direction of our lives one Monday at a time.
